VIDEO SPECS UPDATE

If this is real sky, then it is a very good clip. I am saying that because sky only clips tend to suffer from banding. This clip resolves the problem in an elegant way.

Ya need to revise the keywords; suggest crap, junk, spam, bad, worthless, terrible, blank, up etc. Yup some good stuff is rejected and some crap is accepted. I have one clip of a little league game, sold four times yet the last half is black. Found out that P5 can't just replace the file in the old data. Really need a "replace" capability when a better or re-processed clip is done. Oh well ... let's just have fun and make money ;)

hahah the blue sky is funny.

I don't see a problem with iphone footage being accepted...people still use point and shoot video sometimes to get shots and the iphone probably takes better video than those.

It all comes down to review. And if p5 doesn't want to get an overwhelming amount of bad clips from random people with iphones, they might eventually say ' we do not accept iphone footage '.

jejejeje.....wideweb, yes it is a real sky, I eliminated the banding by zooming in all the way with a 250mm lens,

When you have just made an investment of upgrading your equipment for $2,000 to try to match the shadow of the cameras that you guys have, this Iphone thing makes you a little mad. When I joined P5 in 2010, I went to several places to read what buyers thought of P5. The general opinions was that P5 hosted in percentage more crappy footage than the other sites. IS was the #1 choice because of curation, quality camera used and the most recommended. I do not know if this has change since then with the massive emigration of SS and IS members to P5 but Iphones do not help fight this "2010 reputation". I am not against Iphones under the hands of pros. Pros make miracles.

.......... and of course since there are tenth of millions "Iphones/Smartphones" out there clicking every second maybe P5 will reach 20 million clips in a couple years and by then there will be no room for the rest of us. (an improbable but not impossible scenario)

Good footage will always have a marketplace... hopefully that place remains to be P5

I did a search for clear blue sky and found only about 8500 clips but none of them is pure clear blue sky, almost all of them have clouds. Luxor's clip is unique but very cheap.

To reiterate the approval process:

There will always be the possibility of human error during our curatorial approval process because we do not have an automated system. Our curators closely inspect every one of your submissions, but occasionally there will be inadvertent approvals/rejections.

OD's clip is a perfect example of an iPhone clip that is great and 100% acceptable. Luxor's blue sky clip is actually really cool as well, as many others have said.

Please don't hesitate to email me if you have any questions/concerns/comments!

Thanks,

I really don't think anyone thinks the sky footage is good. It was all in jest about how bad many approvals are ;)
vadervideo 3 May 2013 04:43
Luxor, I would have done that as a 4k time lapse. I think you would have caught more blue that way. ;)
RekindlePhoto 3 May 2013 04:47
Absolutely, it would have brought out the details much clearer ...
