Actually, they can "downsize" or re-encode on the fly. RevoStock does this. They generate the requested files as needed and you can use their back end to re-encode to whatever specs you need.
I requested this feature over 2 years ago and was told they were working on it. Turned out not to be true.
In fact, if they would allow buyers to downsize/re-encode their purchased files, Pond5 would SAVE a lot of money in storage because a lot of people are uploading 2 to 5 different versions of the same clip.
