Is this a mouse or a vole?

While trying to get some shots of birds eating seed under a hedge near the house, a small mammal got his chance of stardom. He walked on, stopped dead centre in the frame and collected a couple of seeds, then walked off. There were little caches of seeds spread out under a cople of yards of the hedge, so I was dead lucky.

Anyway, does anyone know whether this is a mouse or a vole? European, if that makes a difference.

Mouse

Looks like a plain ol' cat delicacy mouse. May I suggest a mouse trap or glue trap before you end up with a thousand of them ;)

You can call it what ever you want as both names mean burrowing rodent. Then again you it might just one of your house pets.

Mouse it is, then.

It was very nice between a couple of slices of wholemeal, anyway. It had slightly more flavour than Badger, but not as strongly flavoured as Owl.

And in comparison to Squirrel? ............I know it all tastes like chicken ; D

Much better on a stick roasting over an open fire.
