Adobe Premiere CS3 Settings for Export

So I should not choose that option?

I have no idea why SS told you use square pixels but don't use that option.

alright. Well here is what I tried now. I did a capture, 1440x1080 (60i), and did export, adobe media encoder. Chose the resoltuion to be 1440x1080, then chose aspect ratio to be 16:9 anomorphic (1.33). When I open this in a video program, it looks weird (like square). Any ideas? Is this proper, then it will be taken care of later or what :-)

Ok, one more time.
QT, Apple Motion JPEG B, 1920, 1080, 29.97, upper, Square Pixels (1.0), 24 bit - color, Audio Linear PCM 16bit stereo.
Yes Square Pixel is collect for 1440x1080 to 1920x1080.
If these setting don't work I have no idea what you are doing wrong. Must have something to do with how you are bringing the clip into PS CS3.

Thank you Don. I have done exactly what you are saying, and tried it earlier with no luck. I am awaiting the curators response on the problem. I am currently uploading a clip that is mov with 1440x1080 with 1.33 ratio. Same other settings. I uploaded a 5sec test and it worked, now trying for the full 15seconds. Sorry if I seem naive to this stuff , but I am really trying hard to upload quality stuff, and not have to worry about inconsistancies among other sites, and withing my portfolio on this site.

Another note... does it hurt to leave it at 1440x1080, and will downloaders see this as a pitfall?

The difference between SS and P5 is that at SS, in order to achieve widescreen preview, you have to render out your HDV clip with 1920x1080.

Here at P5, fortunately for you, this is not necessary: It is sufficient to upload 1440 x 1080 and check "16:9 anamorphic" in the aspect ratio box.

Cheers,
Stefan

Awesome. I have 20min left, then I will see if it works or not. After reading some other forum posts I notice that there is no difference in quality if I change from 1440 to 1920, just what it displays. It is very confusing to me :-P. All this aspect ratio, square pixels, anamorphic, etc. I have been trying to figure it out, but am very lost at the moment.... but it is coming together slowly.

H! I had a similar problem. My Premiere Pro wrote the video file head incorrectly: the real length was different from the written length. In order to repair all those clips I had to reconvert them using MPEG Streamclip. I never managed to find out what the real problem was. From time to time I get the same error, but fortunately, now I know how to sort it out. The clips with wrong head went uploading fine on other sites but no on P5; I also had no trouble using them in other video applications.
