Progressive vs Interlaced?

Is one worth more than the other on the market?

Also, is there any point in shooting 16X9 in SD Video?

Does Squeeze mode translate in this space? If played in 4x3 it is tall, but looks right on a wide screen.

Any point to a letter box version in in 4x3?

Just some questions from a new member.

From what I understand progressive is preferred (based on my personal contacts), but people with interlaced video seem to sell a lot. Ive seen people with really cool 16x9 sd video clips but none of them have sold. Anamorphic or squeeze mode is accepted. Ive tried making a few letterbox clips because I do a lot of experimental stuff, but none of them have sold, but the majority of my clips have been added in this year, at the end of 2007 I only had about 150 clips, so I don't have a whole lot of history. pond5 likes it when you post clips that are original to how you shot them,,, I personally have a habit of breaking the rules, but I get a fair number of sales considering how relatively few clips I have.

i vs p: The best is what you cam is best at (if it can do both, stick with the format it´s been principally made for. If it can do both with the same quality, well, hope youl´ll get advice from others :).

SD 16:9 does play correctly here if you check 16:9 anamorphic in the submission interface. It sells, but I don´t know if it sells better, equally or worse than 4:3 because to know that you would have to compare exactly the same clips in both aspect ratios.

Do not letterbox your 16:9 clips! Widescreen is bought for widescreen TVs, not for 4:3 TVs, and buyers don´t want to pay for black pixels.

Good luck!

Fully discussed in this thread, I suggest you have a look at it.
