Title: Prelude no. 13 from Preludes, Op. 28
The Prelude no. 13 from Op. 28 is both know as On foreign soil, under a night of stars, thinking of my beloved faraway, and Loss. The names were suggested by Cortot and Hans von Bülow (as well as others for preludes of the same set), as Chopin did not usually use evocative names for his pieces. This is one of the longest preludes and, and it features an A B A structure with continuous single-note quaver movement in the left hand and chords and melody in the right. The whole Op. 28 was dedicated to Camille Pleyel in its French edition, and to Joseph Christoph Kessler in the German edition.
