Alternate Title: Where Goest, Alfonso Twelfth? Alfonso Doce

Cuban Americans vocals Ethnography Music Spanish songs Ballads Ybor City Tampa, Florida Hillsborough County

A Spanish ballad reported to be well known in Cuba. Alfonso XII was King of Spain. Adelpha Pollato learned the song in Key West, Florida. Ybor City, now a neighborhood within Tampa, was settled in 1886 by Cuban cigar manufacturers under the leadership of Vicente Martメnez de Ybor. The cigar companies moved from Key West to avoid unionization of their workers. The sound quality of this recording is extremely poor. It has been included online because the melody line can still be identified.
