Alternate Title: Johnie's flute

Greek Americans vocals with piano Ethnography Music Greek songs Philoptochos Society Tarpon Springs, Florida Pinellas County

A Greek folk song melody and rhythm originated by the mountaineers' flute many years back and still very popular. The performers are members of the Byzantine Choir of Tarpon Springs, Florida. Tarpon Springs was settled by Greek sponge fishers in 1905. The sound quality of this recording is extremely poor. It has been included online because the melody line can still be identified.
