Dashboard views

I was wondering how the dashboard views are generated? Or what is it telling us?

I thought they were the number of times someone looked at a given clip.
The reason I'm asking is I created an Access database that I download the clips CSV and import that into it. Then I can see on any given day which clips were looked at and if any clips were put in a bin or cart.
(yes, I have too much time on my hands)

For instance, right now my dashboard shows 78 page loads from the 30th when it was reset.
My database shows that 266 clips were viewed just from yesterday.
I guess a "pageload" is different from clips being viewed?

Thanks,
Jake

Hey Jake
I posted this elsewhere but will post here too. I'm not familiar with the dashboard or the CSV file whatever. Where do I find them?

On your main page, on the right near the bottom is several links. That is where you will find the Dashboard and CSV file. I personally have not used the CSV yet but but Jake is having fun with it.

Hell, I didn't have any problem finding mine as it's rigth in front of the steering wheel but it's hard to focus on after a few drinks. But I have cruise control so who needs a dashboard? lol !!

Do the dashboard and CSV links only show up after your first month and or sale as I cannot find links to them on any of my pages?

Hi!

I think you should select 'Yes' in Preferences => Experimental stuff to see these 'TEST' options.

Hey guys,
Well as Marcus pointed out, the csv shows views from search engine spiders so it isn't much use for looking at viiews. But it is good to see if any clips were put in a bin or cart on any given day.

Zygis is correct, you have to select "yes in preferences to see the experimental stuff.

Information I'd like to see made available:

Percentage of sales per month broken down by size: HD, SD, Multimedia, etc.. It would be nice to know if/when people trend towards certain formats.

I don't know if can be done... but percentage of sales per category. It would be nice to know what's popular. I know we can look up the search info, but I'd like to see all actual sales split up by the categories.

I have Experimental stuff on, but don't see the link to Views. Is this still live?

What I'm looking for is a way to see how many views each of my clips has, without actually going to the clip. When I go to the clip, of course the view increments up by 1, so I'd rather not do that.

YouTube has a feature like this in the account admin.
