Wireless Mic

Any recommendations on wireless microphones?

I am looking to do a few things, like cooking shows, how to's, etc. and thought a wireless mic might come in handy.

Would it be smarter to get a XLR then get a XLR to mini jack converter?

XLR is the professional standard for audio connections. That may not help you today, but it is the upgrade safe route. Sennheisers are an investment into the future, treated well they are lifetime companions.

Scott it comes with both types of inputs but since your camera only has a mini jack input you'd use the mini.

I didn't know if you got better quality doing a xlr to mini or going straight to mini from the mic... if that makes any sense :-).

Look at the Sennheiser Evolution G2 100 Series for 699.00 that comes with a transmitter base for a hand held mic. There is also Evolution G2 100 Series for 549.00 with the base transmitter.

Holy smokes, that is for only 1 channel input? How does the fx1000, or any other mini jack camera record the audio to the tape? Is all end up being 1 audio track?

I have a brand new Samson UM1/77 wireless lav with XLR connect I'll sell for $200 shipped if your interested.
It's not a Sennheiser but if you're on a budget...
I have opened it and set it up but never actually used it beyond that.
I went with a hard lav for the job I was doing.
