GoPro Hero3 annouced

I have been reading all your comments about the Hero Black. I was also very impressed with the quality of the adds. Watched the footage of the guys flying in the Alps. But from what I read now I will think twice. It could be useful when I do time lapse on construction sites, but will drive me mad when things go wrong. There is obviously a market for this type of camera in the professional field we are in, all my cameras are Sony's, so I think they should come up with the right cameras that works everytime and forever. I am watching this space. PS. I am new to this site, but find the comments usefull and constructive, thanks guys.

Here's a good note about the Hero 3 Black: Had good results with it on my trip, many Alaska driving shots turned out really stable and smooth, including this clip, which looks visually awesome full-screen! (Recorded 2.7K/ Wide/ 30fps/ ProTune/ WB Camera RAW)

incredible great work.

Thanks, glad you guys agree. I think part of the reason it came out so good is (besides the light was awesome) the fact that there were no vertical lines to distort. This clip benefitted slightly from Warp Stabilizer (I had cam braced on window, but it still slipped) and one window dot cloned out.

I have found the 2.7K/30fps to work best in most situations. I don't know why. Least distortion, least jello. Even less than 720p which has lots of both. Doesn't make sense.

I'll render out a driving clip later today.

Question: Should I render and upload in 2.7K as well as HD?

OK, granted I'm not getting much done around here, but I did manage to get a few clips out. Here's a Hero3 POV clip from Haines Highway. Got quite a few of these - but they require a bit of concentration, which I don't have right now since we are packing!

Thanks for the info Mizamook, I have yet to try 2.7k but now I cant wait to see if I like it more.
I have had 1 Go pro3 sale thus far, to bad it was an overcast day or this would look better.

However I'm not that impressed with the camera, I have had a hard time getting it to turn on and charge, sometimes instead of charging when plugged in it drains the battery completely!
The remote control is cool, but kinda weak.
I have just found that I end up deleting 90% of the clips I film on it :(

Hey Jake, I don't need to set up a fake doctor office ... I just hurt myself ;) The surgeon wouldn't let the camera into the operation but allowed the small GoPro afterwards. No fake silicon or makeup here LOL.
