Pond5 Is Ripping Off Contributors

Agencies are just doing what they need to in order to stay competitive. Unfortunately, now the power is with the customer. They know they can shop around, and they know they can practically name their price and agencies will most likely comply just to keep the customer.

For Exclusive account they can`t shop around to much, we are in their mercy for non_Exc...

Well, I did it. I deleted all my "Pending Review" clips (which were all of them) from my account.

As an Exclusive member, your footage appears to be stuck with Pond5 for at least 180 days after you decide to jump ship so the last thing I want is to contribute to this race to the bottom and be stuck watching from the sidelines for six months while my account gets the odd few bucks here and there. For $5-$10 per sale, it's worth just sitting on my footage.

Until Pond5 can commit to the price we set, there's no reason to stick around. I don't see them ever doing that post SS buyout so until a more ethical company comes around, time to forget about the whole stock footage thing.

Sent my email requesting termination of my enrollment in the exclusive program.

If a P5 exclusive clip, can end up in a SS subscription Plan, how can they claim Exclusive at Pond5 with the regular prices. Is there anywhere to go for clarification on all of this? So far my clips seem to be selling at the normal price, sometimes strangely higher, (Possibly because SS upsold it from Editorial to Commercial??) but if it suddenly turns into just a couple of dollars a clip, then I would have to pull my portfolio. Could probably just set up a personal marketplace at Vimeo or some such place and keep the prices where they belong and take 100% profits. Google can be my search engine.

Pond is NOT ripping of contributors.

Yo Primus1, tell us why you think the current P5 relationship with us contributors benefits us like in the past

You know, in these days you need to have clips in X-10K's to get anything out of them. So, it is silly having an illusion, expectation, to get anything with few 100's, few 1000's and even more. Those days are over. Unfortunately. Nothing more to add to this.
Leave % per author aside. This will only go down. On all agencies. And P5 still has best % for author.

Hi,
I just got an aerial video clip (priced at 157€ in HD) sold for a revenue of 24.62$.
This is about 15%, very far from the claimed 40% !
Why put a fixed price on my clips then ?
Why would I stay on Pond5 for such a disrespectful pricing strategy ?

Yo Primus1, explain to Bastizor how he's not getting ripped off
