Let's talk 4k.

I have not seen any film crews using 4k cameras to film interviews and tv comercials down here. I see a transition to more Canon's C300s and C100s. Hopefully I will get my GH4 in 2015. I wish it could record 4k in-camera at 200mbs or 50mbs per quadrant.

So far the Canon rumors that 4K dslr might not happen soon. A rumor of a 4K Canon video camera is in the works. They appear to be pushing the C300 and C100 with 4K. Looks like I might be dumping a lot of Canon gear after NAB if there is not something announced.

I'm looking at dumping Canon gear, with the exception of some lenses, even if they do announce a 4k 5d4. The more I look at MFT, the more I wonder why I have waited so long to adopt it. All the gear for less money and half the weight? Plus much more adaptable to remote control with smartphones, which is really important to me. I can mount a GH4 on a wing strut, and control it fully, switching between video and stills, all from the cockpit, and I even think I can zoom with some lenses. This is where Canon and Nikon are totally asleep at the switch.

Lumix GH5 4k/60p plus 8k ready for 2016? Sony 8k for 2016? If I buy a GH4 in 2015 it will be obsolete in less than a year? I need a beer.

That's why I consider the Sony AX-100 and the GH4 a low cost temporary fix and not putting any or much upgrade thought to either one. The 4K camera options are are still being investigated and perfected. 1-2 years out before we will see a longer term option.

I guess I will have to wait till NAB:
"There is no detailed specifications or release date of the GH4 replacement camera. The upcoming GH5 has a long way to go before becoming official. Our expectation is that the Panasonic GH5 should arrive in 2015. Possible event could be the NAB Show in April, 2015. "

I wish Panasonic upgrade FZ1000 to FZ2000 with 4K 50fps. ;)

Great thoughts from everyone.
To be clearer, when we go 4K it'll be RAW at the very least, which leaves the GH4 out of the equation, don't' get me wrong, we loved the GH4, we rented one for about a month with back to back wedding's (see our 17.5mm Lens demo http://youtu.be/TXehFraoXGg and didn't want to give it back. Note that the only reason, was 1080P at 60pfs, as the 1080p 96fps was horrid, and the quality of the 4K was washed out, not even enough for us to warrant it being the work horse in our stable and the extra attachment to record 4K RAW makes the cost the same as other options to explore. One other thing about M4 sensors, even with a low f-stop lense, the ISO noise in low light, it's terrible, I love the 70D low light noise as it's smooth like the 5D, nothing like the T5i's APS-c sensors.
We use canon, and I hear what has been said about mirrorless M4 sensor equipment, the weight is night and day, but i'll be honest, that is fine for point and click shooting, not a field setup when your using 24ft of dolly or camera Jib, for us that never comes into the equation. I think the GH4 is stunning, but is only a sample of 4K mirrorless bodies to come.
The Canon C series we love too, and the new C500's this is what we'd love to aim for as it ticks pretty much all the boxes. 1080P 60+fps, Super 35mm sensor, EF mount, 4K RAW @60fps, XLr input with 48v phantom. That's our target, however that said $20k for the body and carry kits (LCD flipup) and the equipment for post, it's going to be a wish more than a reality. We also like the BM Ursa to, with EF mount, and some good reviews coming out.
What would you gents/ladies list as "thee" most important factors when purchasing a 4K camera/sensor?

Global Shutter, S35mm, incamera RAW therefore I got the BMPC4K. Of course it would be great if it had 50fps or a higher dynamic range but for me that ist the best bang for the buck at the moment. Im sure BMD could do better.

"Global Shutter" absolutely agree, what do you think about the BMPC? I hear great things about that camera!
