The pink CA in the first shot is something that could happen with any camera, but the G lens on the Z100 does seem to be especially susceptible to it. If you shoot into the sun with this camera you could be in trouble. As for the sky images it's impossible to really appreciate the noise with a still image because nothing's moving. But from what I can see in the frames you've posted I'd say you're worried about nothing. Looking at this footage at 100% on an HD monitor is a mistake, it's misleading. The footage needs to be viewed on a monitor four times as large as what you're looking at. For shots with a lot of sky I use Neat Video, but that's nothing new as I used it with the EX1 as well.

My biggest complaints with the camera at this point: The susceptibility to CA, the on off switch which is too easy to accidentally turn off, and it's utter uselessness in low light.

Dapoopta p-jpeg is old but it is not bloated unless you render at above 90% quality. Its real strength is that it can be used by any software/hardware out there.

Thanks for the encouragement. Yup, a small view of a 4K could and is misleading.

Ok, all ya guys with the Z-100. I have the USB connector to put in the camera but where in the heck do I find the smart phone app? I've done searches everywhere and cannot find it. The digital as well as written user manual tell how to install the USB connector to the camera and then it assumes everything will work. Every app that I've seen takes something loaded into the phone. Any help?

The file sizes are killing me. A 20 second clip PJPEG QT at 85% is still 1.5 Gb and up. P5 seems to be accepting the ftp but SS keeps failing. I've removed the speed limits in Filezilla but still no go. I had one make it through the FTP to SS but another just would not make it through.

Upload time jumped from 30 minutes on HD to nearly 2 hours on 4K.

Anyone been successful with a different format than QT PJPEG for 4K that is somewhat smaller and good quality?

I don't have a 4K camera yet but did you tried to render to ProRes 422 (not HQ) and compare sizes? Maybe it handles 4K differently than Photo JPEG.

Guys, how do you review the lower half of a 4K clip in 100% on an HD monitor?
ODesigns 27 Dec 2013 02:58
I'm able to export from Premiere (via the Media Encoder) to an MXF file. This recent 4K clip is 790MB as an MXF. I'm also able to export to an H.264 MP4 file at 150Mbps, and this same clip is 522MB. Since http://footage.shutterstock.com/video.html?id=5302814&ref=296539 at this point, I'm going to use the MP4 filetype for the time being.

Is the clip of the piano cleaned with any noise reducer? Beautiful and clean shot, great example.
