Hyperlapses

@ paul87 That is a true hyperlapse as the memorial was in frame.

@ PremiumProductionTracks this clip 47478090 is no more than a time lapse and i don't care how long he spent out on the road for that clip.

I've use my tl motorized slider and pan/tilt heads for realtime video, the result is smooth too

@jason I get what definition you're going for, but that is basically saying: if the camera moves outside of something it's a hyperlapse, if it's inside, it's just a time-lapse. It doesn't really make sense.

So walking and moving the camera forward is a hyperlapse. But having it on a bicycle is not? The logical definition is: "time-lapse with BIG movements".

So basically you're saying that movement of FEET, not wheels, is what makes it a hyperlapse. I know some people have this strange definition, but I go with the "time-lapse with BIG movements" definition.

Yeah I agree with premium production tracks. Doesn't matter how it's made as long as it has big movement. I've made many hyper lapses. Doesn't matter what the focal point it. You make it sound like hyper lapses can only spin around an object. Whereas I like the straight lines ones better. One of my favorite hyper lapses was the one zipping through the desert doing a star lapse. All they did to make that one was hook it up to some old railroad track if I remember correctly and let it go all night. But your definition for hyper lapses would mean they would have to circle the subject AKA the stars lol which isn't possible.

My first attempt at making a true hyperlapse. It was pretty fun. I will definitely keep experimenting with this technique.

Here is another hyper lapse. This is a test to another one Ill do when I have more time. I want to take long exposure shots along the same path. The only hard part is trying to time my three steps picture 3 steps picture with the red lights haha. I use a Mole Richardson Roller light stand rigged to my camera. I find it easier then using a tripod. Don't move the stand while the picture is going. But you get the idea.

@OliverM - Nice and smooth, which one do you use?
T_RoFilms 17 Jul 2016 15:17
Unfortunately it wouldn't let me smooth it in editing. Because to many things cross the frame. So zero smoothing was applied to this. Usually I use after effect warp. But everytime I did it on that clip it freaked out

Anyone use the hyper lapse app from Instagram? It's pretty neat.
PremiumProductionTracks 10 Aug 2016 14:57
Well, the stabilization is amazing (just like Microsoft Hyperlapse) but the quality is so bad you can't use it for anything but fun web clips for your friends. Sideways movement is a problem but forward hyperlapse stabilization is truly great with Microsoft Hyperlapse. For some reason they won't let you choose a reasonable bitrate so the output is completely compressed to shreds...
