Casey Neistat got the Mavic to test. He seems to be blown away by it. But the video he shows at the end does look a little soft to me. Not sure about that.

Probably need one of each. The DJI for travel and the GoPro for more local areas.

Casey makes his evaluations and conclusions based for Vlogging use. I also think it looks soft as my old HF1 camera although he shrunk the 4k to FHD. Hopefully somebody like Mizamook will make a real 4k picture quality review. The price looks great,

I wish they said something about "detachable camera" so that it can be upgraded without having to buy a new drone.

Argh, it's always so annoying when a seemingly awesome and perfect product doesn't deliver on image quality... The Mavic would make things so, so, so much easier when traveling but if the IQ is worse than the Phantom 3 Pro, which already is quite annoying in certain situations, it just won't cut it for anything but personal use.

That footage at the end of Casey's review isn't a little soft ... it's down pillow. I didn't know ANY camera could look like that these days ... so something must be wrong. Also, saw a prop in one shot ...
I was prepared for a little soft (most drone footage is oversharpened/hyped) but that's crazy, like he left the bubble on and smeared vaseline on it?
Still waiting for "actual footage to be downloaded" ... it won't be too long now.

No excuse at this point for a soft camera video. Need to see the leaves and drops in a waterfall. DJI appears to have dummied the camera to save size and weight to below the Phantom 4 camera quality. If this is so it is another toy. The comparisons I've seen so far in unbiased comparison of Karma and Mavic video ... DJI has lost again.
