Stranger search results

It used to be if i typed ar-15 (with the dash) I would get mostly gun results, now when i type in ar-15 It removes the dash and I get lots of spotlight results, What up with change?

Can the results be too broad? or would exact search results be better?

The above example can be fixed by just typing ar-15 guns , but are users going to do that?

Thanks good point, on the ar15. I was using it as one example that I knew about, What I'm saying is is something changed in the last week on how search results are shown because it didn't used to delete the dash, nor did show the results I'm seeing now, Im not complaining just thought someone else noticed also.
