OK it looks like it is integrated into the camera the apeture control is a little weird but its on the body so I think its all built together. It may not work because the 5d is a 35mm size and obviously super 8 is 8mm size, but its a very large lense I think it may be possible, but I don't think ill take it apart.

The light may be projecting over a larger area and it might be "croped off"... if not what I would do is either add optics similar to a teleconverter (which just magnifies the light), or cut off the back part of the optical arrangement and attach it to a bellows device which I already have. I used the bellows to attach some high quality lenses made for machines other than cameras.
