Description:
1. GV Dr. Nabeel Shaath being interviewed. (2 SHOTS) 1.36 SPEECH (TRANSCRIPT) DR. NABEEL SHAATH: (SEQ 1) "The support that we have been getting so far is very little, very late. I know that this because the Arab world is in a rare condition of strategic weakness after the Iraqi-Iranian war and the Camp David accords and the friction in the Arab world. This has been the lowest point in the Arab sense of solidarity and this has definitely contributed to the aggression used against us. It has been an opportunity for American-Israeli sedition. And therefore the Arab world has not been ready to defend itself and (INDISTINCT) it has given Egypt and Syria before when Israel has attacked them in 1948, 66, 67, and so on. Definitely in normal conditions Arabs would have fought beside us or they would have interrupted in sanctions against America and all the support and all the aggression would be known. This has not yet happened. I think what has happened has aroused the Arab world's greatest wrath since 1948 and 67. What is happening will definitely create a new Arab world that is much stronger and much more capable of defending itself against America and Israel. But it will take some time fortress until that Arab spirit has reappeared." InitialsDF/JRS Script is copyright Reuters Limited. All rights reserved
