Description

By Reuters

Description:
BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA (NOVEMBER 27, 2017) (REUTERS) (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) LAWYER FROM ARGENTINE CENTRE FOR LEGAL AND SOCIAL STUDIES (CELS), LUZ PALMAS ZALDUA, SAYING: "First, the large universe of victims allows you to see the magnitude of the clandestine detention centre, even though we are talking about a clandestine centre in which, it's estimated, some five thousand people passed through. So there's still much to find out about. Many of the victims still haven't been identified. A lot of the victims, in general, don't know which clandestine centre they were at, and they could have been at ESMA. Some (of the victims) don't know the name (of the centre), they can't determine (the centre) even though it's been named by survivors. They can't determine who is connected and now they are disappeared. And so there is much still to find out, but it's an important amount of stories. And it's also an important volume of cases that are attributed to it because it relates not just to the task force led by 'Tigre' Acosta, but also to the many different layers throughout the navy."
