India's space agency ISRO showed the first images of the earth taken by a Terrain Mapping Camera (TMC) from on board the spacecraft Chandrayaan-1 on its voyage to the moon on November 1, 2008. The rocket carried 11 payloads - five from India, two from the USA, and one each from Germany, Britain, Sweden and Bulgaria.
