Description:
Dam blocking the Feather River. Lake Oroville in the Spring four years into a drought. The boat ramp sits high and dry as the lake continues to dwindle away. Boats in the marina will gradually move further away as the coastline comes closer. The lake is one of the largest in California and supplies water for farmers farms, thirsty suburban cities and maintaining a river water level below for fish and other wildlife.
The boat ramp at this point is far from the water and a new boat ramp has been built at another location.
The historic shoreline is seen where the red soil is high above this point.
