Description

By MukolaTT

Description:
It has wingspan of 45 to 65 millimetres (1.8 to 2.6 in). Design of wings varies: front wings are brown with white pattern (which can however be missing), back wings are orange with pattern of black dots. Conspicuous patterns serve as warning to predators, because moth's body fluids are poisonous. Its effects are not yet fully known, but they contain quantities of neurotoxic choline esters which act by interfering with acetylcholine receptor. Arctia caja, Lepidoptera, Noctuoidea, Erebidae, Arctia
