Yellowstone paired Harlequin ducks in the rapids of the Yellowstone river at "LeHardys Rapids" on the fast flowing river in the National Park. The NP is mostly in Wyoming and was the first area designated as a National Park in the world. The Harlequin duck is a colorful duck the makes the rapids it's habitat and feed on insects on the river bed. This bird is also found in the Sierra Nevada and coastal areas along the Pacific Ocean.
