Cave 9 is a first period Hinayana style chaitya worship hall; it is 'stupa' containing a worship hall of chaitya-griha. The rock-cut Buddhist cave monuments are located in the Aurangabad district of Maharashtra state, India. Carved into the Sahyadri Hills, above the Waghora River, they date back to the 2nd century.
