Florence, capital of Tuscany, is rich in many masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture. One of its most emblematic sites is the Duomo, the cathedral whose terracotta dome was designed by Brunelleschi and the campanile by Giotto. The Galleria dell'Accademia houses Michelangelo's "David" and the Uffizi Gallery "The Birth of Venus" by Botticelli and the "Annunciation" by Leonardo da Vinci.
