Best software

I've just moved over to using a Mac after zillions of years on a PC. I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements but I think it's a bit limited for various output and I tend to get flickr after I've graded anything. Anyone have any suggestions...I thought of Finl Cut Pro but it seems to be part of Studio which is mega expensive.

Should mention that I have xdcam ex files

Thanks

Adobe Premier Pro CS5 works on Mac...but why that compared to Final Cut Pro?

Either Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro will work just fine. It's a matter of what you are used to. If I decided to move to a Mac, I'd use Adobe Products just because that's what I've been using for years.

I like Ford trucks ;)
Only played a couple times with Final Cut, I've been using Adobe products for a long time. Great integration with Premier Pro, After Effects, Soundbooth, Illustrator, etc etc. I use the Production Suite CS5 and it's done a great job.

I use the Adobe CS5 suite on my Mac and love it. I wouldn't use any other editor, no matter what Steve Jobs says.

Doesn't look like it works with the AIT Radeon cards in the iMac...only Nvidia...someone correct me if i'm wrong please.

I just don't think the new playback engine works on anything but certain nVidia cards. I have an ATI and editing is fine. I just have to render things more on the timeline.

Not a big deal.
