FTP Problems

RekindlePhoto 13 Feb 2014 14:59
It's getting worst. Lost files, dropped connections. Last night 4 successful transfers and 10 failed transfers with several still in the que because of a broken connection. This last week has been a big waste of time, never had this much trouble with ftp at P5. Last night it was ftp2, the night before ftp3 and earlier some ftp problems.

Communicate with us P5 ... why changes that messed it up when it was so reliable and stable? Is the problem being fixed? What is going on?

Hi there,

I haven't heard any reports of problems with the FTP servers at this time. Without asking anyone, my intuition would be that the system might behave like that when it's under heavy load. Do you experience this during peak usage hours, or at all times of day and night?

When you encounter issues like this, the best way to get it addressed quickly is to write in to our customer service (http://help.pond5.com/hc/requests/new). Please rest assured that we're here and we do process your support requests.

I had a bunch of those when at the studio in California (around the first week in Feb) where the internet is not archaic like here. I was thinking it was their connection, but apparently not alone was I being.

Still dealing with the mess! I've come to terms with having to send in a drive, except for occasional uploads here and there.

I'm still getting similar failures. Not all but a few of the ftp uploads. We have been told everything is normal and fixed ... not really. Normally it's the "creation of intermediate file failed" uploading .MOV and PJPEG.

Hello everyone,

Once again, when you're experiencing issues like this, http://help.pond5.com/hc/requests/new.

We understand that when you feel frustrated (especially by our site itself) that it helps to come to the forums and vent. That's totally okay. Our forums are a safe space, and you are free to vent all you like so long as you're not flaming/spamming/attacking others/etc.

But it's important to us that your issues get resolved in a timely manner, and that we keep track of what issues crop up and when so that we can better prevent them in the future. If you don't write in to customer service, we cannot do those things. Please http://help.pond5.com/hc/requests/new with as many details about the issue as you can. I can't promise that we'll be able to solve every issue immediately, but I can promise that we'll be able to solve them much faster than if you just post about them on the forums. Thanks everyone!

Not a problem on this end. I've uploaded 11 files out of 21 and everyone of those 11 are waiting for tagging. Same thing last Friday. Uploaded 23 files and tagged Saturday and approved Sunday. So what's the problem???

I uploaded a few files the day before yesterday when the queue was like 5000+ on ftp 1 and 3. Then today all ftps are at 0 and 1 and none of the files I uploaded have showed up...
