Just need to find a good deal in the UK for this camera and possible 24-105 mm lens. What puts me off a little are most reviews say great for a hobbyist, starting out in SLR photography which smacks of the horrible word "Amateur" Of course I know it probably isn't because all you folk here use one with pro results but I always hate the term hobbyist. Some of the best photographers in the world can make great images using cheaper cameras.

Marbury

If I were in your shoes I'd look at the GH2 (if there's one still around - think there is in my local shop (in England) or the GH3.

They are seriously cheap - very small and shoot fabulous video, and in the case of the GH2 - no moire. GH3 virtually no moire.

There are plenty of guys on here shooting cracking video with these cameras. The lenses are small and light too.

It is less than half of the original price. But the ad doesn't mention the condition nor of their return policy.

I would go for the GH2 but the photo stills quality is mediocre compared to Canon.

Totally agree, but video capability is the other way round and I thought you said that the purchase was mainly for video work.
