Thanks kk5hy for taking the time to put up videos and comments - really interesting. The general problem I see is that the pitch mechanism is fixed to the left of the camera - just where we want the open viewfinder to be. Wonder why it wasn't put to the right?
I know there is a workaround with a smart phone - but that's a bit of a bother. I just can't see how this design, even on a larger scale, could work for the AX100 or any non-DSLR - I am really hoping to be proved wrong as I think this small 3 axis gimbal is a game changer.

I don't know why they are designed with the arm in the way of opening the LCD but they all are. Not just this one.
It's really not that bad to look to the right of the arm to see the LCD.

I see this is a disadvantage not to place it on the right side so we can open the small camera monitor. In general the Beholder is a revolution in video industry. I like it too.

@rekindle
Are you referring the the larger Beholder model? If so it is very close. I have been in touch with them. It will be called the DS1. They finished the design almost two weeks ago and are waiting on the units to be produced. I am hoping to get one of the first units from them this week to early next week.

Whats the ds1?Is it the upgraded ms1 the one -pistol grip- or a 2-grip traditional gimbal?

The ds1 is very similar to the MS1 but it is capable of a higher payload. It will support cameras like a 5d mark iii instead of smaller mirrorless cameras. They haven't announced an official price yet for the DS1. I will try to get all the information from them and post it here.

Here is the prototype of the Beholder DS1
can handle larger camera, motor is on the right side so if you have a GH4 or similar camera you can now flip out the LCD
Also 32 bit board.
Will be released end of this month at around $690
