We've witnessed some heavy rains while shooting in Africa, and although this shot wasn't taken in the flooding that's happening today in the Kruger National Park, it's indicative of the power of weather in nature.
Would be great to see all the different P5 clips of weather in a natural environment:

What did you have on your camera to get that and still have a camera at the end of the shoot LOL!? I was at pilanesberg last year, amazing experience!

Txs Luxor.
Jeff, we were pretty close to the Impalas and had been sitting there watching this "nursery" group when a huge storm broke. So we just sat tight and so did they. The Canon lenses are pretty robust, especially the 70-200mm which is what we were using for these shots. We had some cover over it while it was mounted on our window, and we managed to get off a few shots in a couple of minutes of absolutely torrential rain. The rain wasn't the scary bit tough, it was the lightning, which you can see flashing around in the background every now and then.
Glad you got to the Pilanesberg… one of our favorite places!

Beautiful shot in a magnificent scenery. Nice to know that the 7D is doing it´s job in this kind of weather :)

Love my 70-200 it's been through a ton with me too...too bad the main body isn't a bit more water resistant.
