Why is music payout lower than other media offered on Pond5?

Why does music get less of a payout than video, photography, etc.? (Can someone direct me to the thread that answers this question?)
From the Pond5 contributor agreement:
"3.b - Except as expressly provided below, we will pay you the following percentages of all Net License Revenue and we will deduct and retain the remainder of Net License Revenue:
For video, if you are enrolled in the Exclusivity Program described below, your share of Net License Revenue will be 60%.
For video, if you are not enrolled in the Exclusivity Program, your share of Net License Revenue will be 40%.
For Music Tracks and Sound Effects, your share of Net License Revenue will be 35%,
For photographs, illustrations, 3D models, after effects and other templates, your share of Net License Revenue will be 50%.

I would like to know this as well. It's pretty insulting and depressing, both.

I hope the new CEO revert this back to 50-50, this is really frustrating.

I raised my audio from $40 to $60 to account for the drop from 50% to 35% payout so that I would still get about $20 per sale. I sold a clip yesterday and only got $12 which is only 20%... It's an absolute joke! Worst rates in the stock industry. The discounts should come out of Pond5's pockets not ours.

Yeah - I've started to not post as much of my library here and instead focus on the other platforms where it's a 50/50 split. I love Pond5, but I want to focus my efforts where I will get a more equitable share.

@paulorego I agree if they want to run a discount that's great but it should not come out of the little bit we now all make that's crazy and not fair to the artists here who have built this site basically without us they wouldn't even have a business, so we should really get the 50% originally offered at lest that was a fair split. Whats worse if some big discount cuts into a higher cost lic like it did for me, and I got peanuts on what should have been a lot more money. Plus i just now noticed that a ref link I orig had seems to go to the P5 home page and not my page and the link in the dashboard that went to my page is no longer a link either it seems anyone else notice this, or am I just going crazy, has this been changed for some strange reason?

@SingingDogStudios where is the 50/50 split? I might do the same.
@SFXDude you're completely right! I just sold another two $60 tracks and only received $8 per track... It's like some big evil corporation joke. Maybe they've stopped the whole referral scheme. That sucks... They must be pretty desperate I guess. They used to be so good!

This is very depressing indeed. It's always very easy to rip off musicians. It really shouldn't be!
