Today JVC has announced the JVC GC-PX1 hybrid camcorder. This new camera is a very compact digital camera, which looks very similar to Sony NEX cameras. The camera body is very slim and compact in size. The GC-PX1 can capture still images at 10.6-megapixel resolution with its BSI (Back Illuminated Sensor) CMOS sensor. Furthermore, the JVC GC-PX1 can capture full high definition video clips at 1920x1980p/60 (Progressive scanning; 36Mbps) in AVCHD (H.264) video format. It incorporates a 10X 38.5-385mm (35mm equiv.) F2.8-4.5 lens with Image stabilization for minimizing camera shake. One of the great features with the GC-PX1 is its ability to shoot slow-motion movies at 300fps in 640x480 resolution.

At $1,299 and the small censor, it may not be able to compete with the GH2, T2i, and 60D. It's sensor is about the size of the Sanyo Xacti HF1 which also shoots 60p 1920x1080. Are you sure it shoots AVCHD (H.264) at 35mbs or is it mp4 (H.264) like the Xacti. The JVC shoots 300fps, the HF1 240fps...but the HF1 is no longer manufactured.

You have quite a popular website. We are the only species able to film their own extinction.

I'm doubtful on some of the specs that have been reported. It's gotta be mp4. The 300 FPS at VGA size is the only thing that I want.

Yes Doomtard blogs do quite well these days. No shortage of material that's for sure. The website has taken off like a rocket, going to be in that Mystical land of Alexa 100k soon. Need to work on some Bigfoot and UFO footage.
