Why are there no watermarks on audio? Are we protected?

I've noticed that there are no watermarks on audio files (music or sfx). Most other stock sites have a watermark. Are our sounds unprotected?

hi. i think the downloaded version is watermarked, if im not mistaken? there probably not gonna be many people recording the preview without downloading, so it might be ok

Hi, I just landed here and I've noticed the same. It's seems a kind of easy thing to steal any of the uploaded audio track.

I'm afraid someone who knows how to use Audacity or Camtasia software could easly record the tracks that have no watermark and save them as wav files. That could happen.

I was thinking the same, because recently most of my songs are being added to collections, but no one is buying them.
I think that maybe people can be using tricks to record them as they don't have watermarks

I sell the songs elsewhere, but they are with watermarked there.
It is so easy to use a song with no watermark without permission.

They used to be watermarked up to a couple of years ago. I don't remember why they took it away.

This is true before the new CEO changed a lot of things they were all originally auto watermarked, then I saw some excuse somewhere that customers complained it interfered with there purchase decision, or some BS like that I do not remember exactly but I did think it was crazy as the rest of the industry does still use some type of watermark.

I think they should turn that feature back on to at least make it a little more difficult to use as is, regardless of the preview file being lower quality then what one buys it should still be marked maybe we should all write them saying it should be added back in as it makes no sense to have removed it in the first place. So not only has the rate we get changed from the orig 50/50 split so has the protection of our files. So I agree not a good choice for them to have changed it.
