when i contacted support they said opting out of their global program was no longer an option and to stay on P5 i would need to agree to sell my clips at this price.. im sad to hear this because i thought p5 was the only fair company to video creators in the past.. i could get half of the sale and pick my price.. now my $45 clip i get $3 for. I am interested in hearing from others on how they like this new program.. im opting out of p5 and am sad to say goodbye.

The GPP opt-out was removed sometime ago I believe. I suspect your $3 sale likely came from a buyer in an area/country of the world where P5 has reduced media prices. P5 apparently believes those regions/countries can not support higher stock media prices.
We can agree or not with P5 on this regional sales pricing practice.
Then there are other sales that can provide greater than our listed sale price. So there may be some low price sales - but there may also be sales for more than our listed price.
We each have to make our own decision on how we wish to proceed.
FYI - There are existing and continuing threads down in the "pond5 artists forum" on this topic.

i've had $25 priced sound effects on which my share was $0.16 or so. it wasn't just an exception, it happened a few times similarly. i got kinda angry and wrote to them. after some back and forth, the idea that they conveyed (but of course, in a diplomatic and polite way) was basically if i dont like it, i can pull my stuff out. it wasnt harshly said at all, again, it was very polite and diplomatic, but that was the main takeaway, if i had to conclude..
so yeah, basically, take it or leave it.
i'll take it, as there were a very very small minority of instances (not at all representative), and ive had much more anomalies in the opposite direction (sfx that were sold at a much higher price than i set), so overall its good. but it is annoying when it happens, yes.
what u could do is increase the prices. when i started to see what discrepancy there was when selling to different countries (if im not mistaken, even a 60% reduction in price, and even in my own country - people from my own country get away with paying like 40% of my set price), i increased my prices by a lot (i used to have mainly $10 or $15 as price for my sfx, but i increased to $25), so that i dont get annoyed when receiving very low share when selling something.
unless its quite representative for your sales (the selling at way lower price than u set), i'd say dont panic and continue as usual.

LivingroomClassics:
Did you get any sense of how it is your content got chosen to be given away at those absurdly low prices? Did P5 just bundle yours and others for the buyer? Do buyers who wind up paying pennies only choose $25 sound effects/clips or do they also have the power to choose anything, knowing P5 will just then give it to them. Ya know "I'm in a poor country and I want this $200 clip but I can only pay $5" and P5 says, sure, why not. Like that

the official explanation (their first reply) was:
"taking a look, this sale was via our Global Partner Program, which distributes content from Pond5 to other stock media platforms around the globe.
I do understand how this payout is quite low for your media, but it seems this would be due to all of the holiday discounts going on within the stock media marketplace. I'm not too sure exactly which marketplace this was sold on, but I'm sure the reflection of the price was definitely due to a possible promo code that was active on their site.
Your additional earnings from “GPP” are now paid with regular payouts and once finalized, will be listed on your financials page.
Our expanded distribution channels allow Pond5 to maximize exposure of your content through our network of global partners. These initiatives significantly expand the distribution potential of your work to creators worldwide.
The overall goal of the GPP is to get more eyes on our artists’ content to stimulate sales, and is a fast growing area of our shared revenue with Contributors tapping into great long term potential. Without this program in place, all of our artists (including you) would not have been making the sale at all. Think of it as, "What is better: $0 dollars, or a smaller sale from a country that you normally wouldn't be able to offer to?"
It's important to highlight that as the competitive landscape evolves, we are confident these offerings will elevate your income potential and maintain Pond5's position as an industry leader. We welcome you to find more information about some of these programs here."

It would be informative if P5's contributors knew what global distributors are part of P5's GPP.
Adobe Stock used to be. Alamy currently still is I believe with a selected sub-set of P5 videos. P5 appears to have no information on their web site as to current GPP partners.
