Hi all, I haven't uploaded in a long time. Is it better for the algorhythm if I REACTIVATE my account or should I rather MAKE A NEW account? My original account had fewer than 100 videos but now I plan to upload thousands in the next few months.
Thank you
Thank you

I cannot speak about pond5. But on Adobe I didn‘t upload for around 10 years and had older 1300 files there. My income dropped down to 10-30 dollars. In the last 10 months I added 1200 files and now I am around 150-200 dollars. And the majority of sales are from the older legacy files, not the new content.
I think old files, even if they don‘t get sales all the time, still keep being added to lightboxes or leave some kind of footprint on the algos.
So from this experience I would use the existing account and fill it up.
Again, no clue if it will work the same with pond5.
Good luck with your journey.

Hey, thank you for your kind answer. I am assuming that there is an algorythm boost for beginners. I had uploaded 70 reallly mediocre shots in 2019 and got immediate views in the two figures. Now in the last 4 weeks I have been uploading 200 really good drone footage of Chile, yet no views at all. I reckon if I start a new account, I could possibly benefit from the (assumed) beginners' boost but also possibly lose the right to reupload my existing files because of duplicate alert.

I don't think they have a boost for anyone, if that were the case others would have created a new account to game the system :)
So I'd upload to the same account since at least that is in some search algorithm.
The main problem is since you stopped uploading in 2019 there have been hundreds of thousands of drone videos that was uploaded.
So your 200 now is just part of that number.
Your best bet is to shoot what others haven't or can't and put the best keywords you can. And shoot at least some that is commercial and not editorial since that's the majority of buyers.

regarding what jcobalt says, adobe's alghoritm rewards constant uploads, this was stated by their discord moderators. I assume similiar thing might be there too but i cant confirm.

I think all agencies prefer accounts that are alive and active. And then there are many customers that keep scanning the newest uploads for their needed genres, fresh cheese and wine shots for the food magazine, fresh clips with children for a school, fresh business people for large commerce…
So steady weekly or daily uploads are important everywhere.
