.mts to .mov coversion file size to large

When I convert from .mts to .mov on a 30sec clip I am getting a 5 gb file...any suggestions?

What software are you using to do the conversion? What is the source resolution?

I am using vegas movie studio hd platinum 10 (resolution 1440 x 1080)

When I convert to photojpeg mov in Vegas Studio I take the quality down to 88%. A 12 seconds clip is about 190 mb. If your compresion quality is 100% you are going to end up with a big file.

Never use over 95% quality. A 30 second clip should be between about 250-600 Mb if 1920x1080 HD. Smaller sizes will give small file size.

When I see that files are huge (for me huge is anything over 400 mb), I upload as h.264 MOV and they sell. One of my biggest sellers is in H.264 mov.
