If everyone started their own promotion thread then no one would or could even use the forum, it would be so spammed. That's why everyone shares these threads, Can you imagine 50,000 or more individual marketing threads LOL. We've seen it before in years past where individuals have taken over the forum with dozens of lengthy threads in every category for self promotion. It never works, very few buyers spend time reading the threads. A lot of great artists never come back to the forum because of that and we all lose on their expertise. It might look inappropriate but really no harm done ;)
