How does Pond5 compare to other stock platforms?

This is a question for experienced and seasoned stock contributors (which I am not, so looking to learn here). How does Pond5 compare to other stock platforms? Do you contribute the same content to multiple platforms? Are certain ones better for certain content types / audience groups?

Small contributor opinion here. It probably was the best platform, but since the ss takeover sales have been going down.

If your content is not exclusive, then I would suggest to also upload to adobe, ss, istock and maybe some smaller places like envato, dreamstime or deposit.

adobe seems to be the one with visibly rising sales, at least for me.

I still send everything to pond5 and occasionally have sales.

On pond5 last year I made most of the money with ai training, only sold 16 clips. But I am also a very slow uploader and only have around 1100 clips.

There are big differences between what type of content you upload. Drone footage seems to be doing well, also an amazing amount of editorial video.

Check out the sales thread for some ideas. There is a lot more to shoot than one might consider when you are starting out.

Good luck with your journey.

Stock is a marathon, not a sprint, you usually need at least 4k files to start to see some more reliable income.

Don't forget to also take pictures. Inspite of the doom and gloom, lots of people still make money with images.
