my KONOVA K7 Slider and crank handle video review

I made a little video review about the Konova K7 slider and crank handle. Maybe it's for someone interesting. You find it here on my blog at: http://www.insomnia-dreams.com/konova-slider-and-crank-handle-video-review/

Hope you can understand my poor English...

Hey Rudi,

First off - no more apologizing for the poooooor English! It's good, what can I say - prima, spitze, toll, - comes across well - you have a nice personable style - just fine.

Thanks for taking the time to make that (humorous) post - very useful. I don't have a slider and always wonder if one really needs a motor for smooth pans. In your estimation and experience - how smooth can you pan with the crank handle? Do you pan a few times and choose the smoothest or is it - one pan and job done?

Cheers, Paul

Nice review Rudi - gut gemacht :-)

Does someone used this new camera slider from trostmotion?
http://www.trostmotion.com/

They claim it has a patented mechanism for smooth camera motion even at macro scale. A pitty it's not available in europe.

Excellent! Thank you. Too bad about the compass though.... ; ) Love the flywheel. Would have like liked to see the results of the moves you were doing with it.

Daniel - never heard or seen of the Trost until now. It would be interesting to compare that precision with the K7, eh?

Also, Rudi - your English is just fine, though recording with room sound not as great - your close miked VO sounds much better!

Thanks for all the kind words!
Well, I'm always unhappy with my English, anyway ...

Paul, if possible I always shoot the same thing a few times, ALWAYS! That’s what I have learned and almost every cutter love that because he can pick out the best shot. It’s the same here with the crank but I have to say that the smoothness was NOT what I’m testing in that shot. I’m looking for the shakiness and wobbling of the slider. The smoothness depends a lot by the operator. Some people have terrible motor skills. Some only need one try. It’s up to you but practice practice practice always helps.

Gene I’m also a big fan of the flywheel. I think it’s much better than the crank for quicker moves. Right now we have ugly weather conditions. Fog, rain and flat clouds but I will post her some results in the future. BTW, you live in a wonderful Country! I love your Glacial Ice shots! These shots with a slow slider move… yummy yummy…

Daniel, massive thing from Trost! Hey, they use also a ruler-test!!! Cool! :-D
Ohps, the price is nearly three times more than the Konova. Would be interesting to compare this two sliders. The Trost has to be 3 times better in this case.

Argh… Bernhard from Kaulfuss-Media has pointed me to an error in my writings (thanks!). I forgot the “A” in “NO STABILIZATION”. FU..! Shame on me!
