Hey everybody
I just joined Pond5. I am having trouble finding out as to how to prepare my file for uploading. I have read the upload instructions, but there isn't anything which would be related as to how to package the file, and that does the file need to have preview image, preview video file, which format and the like, and what are the resolutions for all of these. I tried to upload a .zip archive containing motion graphics footage, preview video file, preview image and thumbnail, and the system said that "No 3D-file found" despite the fact that I uploaded it into Video-category. Your help would be appreciated.
Best regards

If you are simply trying to upload a motion graphic file (video - hint, hint) you first need to render it to a QuickTime file (.mov). You should not upload a png sequence as that is merely a long list of individual images. Hence, they will most likely end up being looked at as individual photos instead of a video. The simple answer is to render your image sequence into a video using well know codecs that put out .mov files. Typically for such sequences one would use Adobe After Effects for best results. There are alternative products as well, some even for free. I don't know the names off the top of my head. But I am sure some people will suggest them here. If you want more info, I have several tutorials on this on YouTube. You can find them by visiting http://stockfootage.vadervideo.com/content/sequence-processing and then in the upper right hand corner look at the menu item "TechINFO" and use the flyout menus for the particular software you want to use. This covers jpg and RAW sequences, but applies to png sequences the same way. Hence instead of loading a sequence of jpg's you would load files with extension .png. Hope that helps.

Thanks Vader. I also received a msg from staff saying to zip it up.. so i will try that.. and also need to re-render at higher res.
there's one thing i think you're missing though.. I want to retain the alpha channel in the file.. should I make one version full render and one just the alpha and sell them seperate?? Or i could make the background pure green for keying?

Depends on the codec. I typically use the png (as opposed to jpg) so that I get the full 32 bit which integrates and retains the alpha channel transparency. The file is a bit larger, but buyers seem to like that as most of the work (if not all) in regards to keying is already done. Just make sure that when selecting png, to make sure you select RGB+Alpha (not RGB only) and you should be good to go.
