Am I the only one who is tired of reading (and hearing) music titles with "happy, clappy, ukulele, optimistic, whistling, positive, uplifting" all the while on stock sites ? I mean I have never know so many unimaginative sheep producing almost identical music which seems to get worse.

This is stock - golden rule number one: produce what buyers want, not what you want to produce. People produce this because it's proven popular in the past and it seems fair enough to think it might, therefore, sell again; that's what most sellers are trying to achieve here and elsewhere. There's plenty of places in other sectors of the media industries for people to deliver clever, original, cutting edge ideas but buyers tend not to look to stock agencies to find it. It's definitely here but in greater dilution. Stock agencies fulfill a different need.

Marbury: Looking forward to seeing your original, imaginative clips - how's it going?

Fair point but there just seems an epidemic of this kind of music in media. I suppose you can't blame artists for putting it out. Videostock- Yes, getting stuck in to filming and loving it. Have uploaded/uploading files here as I write :-) but it takes a long time. I have some up here accepted a few days ago but they are not showing in the search/latest video. Here is one:

I agree I to get tired of recording happy silly stuff but it seams to sell better than some of the tracks I have many hours in recording. So I keep cutting new stuff! Some is for me and some is just to fit the media needs for happy positive and uplifting.
This is the stuff I like to cut but sale not the best.

But why do so many people name their tracks possitive, uplifting, happy, etc etc ? Surely those words will be picked up in the keywording. At least make the tiles more interesting.

Happy and clappy is what sells the best here; and hence the reason such titles are used as a description. So is it unimaginative or good business sense? What I normally craft isn’t all the happy, clappy stuff; and as RadioDirect states, (good tune by the way) what we really want to do doesn’t sell the best here. Sometimes it is hard to write in an unimaginative and almost identical way.

But again, surely you dont have to put these words in the titles as they are in the keywords.
