DSLRs or mirrorless cameras with same sensor as GoPro or similar look

Hi,

I'm finding my GoPro Hero 3+ black footage very easy to work with when it comes to color grading compared to my Canon 600D. Are there any new cameras out there right now that use the same sensor or have a similar look? I'm not looking for another action camera, but something with a fixed lens or maybe a micro four thirds mount so I can use my stills lenses with it. Thanks!

That's strange because both are very compressed video formats.May i ask what profile do you use on your 600D?

I use one that I found online that people seem to like, that I further modified a little
picture profile - neutral
sharpness - plus 1
contrast - minus 3
saturation - minus 1
colour tone - not changed
highlight tone priority - disabled

I don't know while the go pro footage is definitely more compressed and more muddy at times, i find the colors to be better.

Depends on whether you use protune or not with gopro.
All these are subjective anyways you may find that one camera has more or better colour to you but not to someone else.
Since you can't tune gopro,id advise you to check how you shoot and expose with your 600D.All the canon dslr's i use i expose to the right to keep HTP on.Gives me a stop more DR ,at least thats what i have concluded with tests at lowest iso.
But nevermind HTP maybe you need to tune your 600d a bit id say go with -4 contrast and -2 saturation and for heavens sake ditch sharpening altogether.

Now matching gopro with another camera,i have no idea what camera would resemble the gopro look.Maybe an ENG camera with a small sensor like 1/3 '',thats where i would start.

Great i'll try to lower sat and con a bit. And try leaving sharpness at 0.
I don't use pro tune, I like the look I get without it with color grading in GoPro studio. Maybe the problem is that I'm terrible at color grading!
I do miss ENG style cameras. But they are so expensive, I mean even finding a used F900 will set you back 4-6,000 green ones.

GoPro video, if you look at the various scopes, even in Protune is quite compressed. The Vectorscope for GoPro video is never broad but rather bunched in the centre even after the video has its saturation increased.

Didnt mean F900 thats technically and EFP not an ENG camera although the terms are becoming rather vague lately.I meant a camera like a Canon XA or XF.
