What formats are accepted in 4k clips?

What formats are accepted in 4k clips?
I'm exporting with premiere and having a few complications.

For the codecs? I use prores. If you don't have prores use photojpg (quicktime).

What problems are you having?

Just getting the clips under 1.8 gb. I think I'm finding a way now using h264 changing the bit rate... but I don't know if the quality is the best... It's just a bit confusing.. I'm trying to export with premiere cs6.
