sending in a hard drive instead of uploading

why hello!

I just started uploading to pond 5 and have a lot of clips. Unfortunately it is going slow because my internet connection at home isn't a business connection.

Has anybody had any experience with sending in a hard drive in lieu of uploading their files?

The seller Q and A page says it takes about a month to have those clips copied onto their servers. And it also says they return hard drives if you send them in. But other than that no other info.

Anybody have any tips or insight?

thanks

hi allfractup. thanks for the advice. i've tried searching "hard drive" in the forums, but all the entries that come up are tech questions about actual hard drives and not much about sending one in. have you had any luck searching for that topic? maybe i'm not typing in the right keywords.

In your profile page you have location in New York, Pond5 headquarters is in New York too, wouldn`t it be easier to just bring your clips to them instead of sending it?

hi fractup, when i click that link, i get a message that says please log in to access this page, even though i'm already logged in.

hi motion, i guess i could try to go to their headquarters myself since it is close. the problem is you can't get past lobby security in a lot of buildings in nyc without getting on a visitor list. in my building no visitors are allowed that haven't been put on the list by the company. but i could try to contact someone at pond 5 and try it out.

@studiokiet,

The reason you cannot access that link is that it may be in P5 Artist only or in Off Topic.
To enter into those two forum threads you have to have at least one clip reviewed and on line.

Depending on your upload speed it might wiser to upload rather then to send in a flash/hard drive. As it will take a month before P5 has upload to the server for you to tag then other two weeks or more before they are approved and online.
