Feiyu MG 3-axis Gimbal

I took a chance on this gimbal http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1198288-REG/feiyu_mg_3_axis_handheld_gimbal.html

After having experienced loads of frustration with many other gimbals (UAV and handheld) being of lackluster performance, I was balanced and shooting after about 30 minutes of setup, now in case, but can be deployed and shooting in 2 or 3 minutes. ... it's a first.

I'm using it with a RX100m4 on Giottos quick release plate .. (that way I can index it so I don't have to balance every time). Later in life if I get a larger mirrorless like A7sll, I'll have to ditch the quick release due to weight, but so far so good.

Nice quality for the price, actually.

I think this uses different controller than most other gimbals .. not SimpleBGC Alexmos ...

Just thought I'd toss that out there for the curious.

Thanks!

I am an old man and holding things for long periods of time is starting to wear on me. So I bought a vest and steadicam rig. I'll do a review of that over the next couple weeks.

Would love to see some footage of you using the gimble.

Good luck with that arm and vest! I have a Glidecam rigged for Z5U and PIX220 recorder .. it's a handful ... I find the small handheld gimbal much easier to get shots with (not to mention carry) although there are moments I wish I had the arm to get rid of the inevitable walking "bipedal bounce" .

Right .. I'm not talking one of those two-handed rigs ... have one of those, too, and it's a strain no matter what. Been crappy shooting conditions so I'm not getting much of anything.

I just want to see some footage of Miz in general. Please film your next family dinner, your next shop at the grocery, and make anything else you come up with.

I had that gimbal. I returned it. My IS in camera and that thing were fighting. Even with the IS turned off using some app I found I didn't have the footage I was seeking for $300 (cost of this thing).

I also owned the beholder ds1 and sent that back, same reasons. I have better results on my glidecam hd4000 and couldn't justify the $700 purchase.

As you wish. I'll render up the joke shot I made running through a forest (although any respect anyone might have had for me will disappear)

Huh ... where you get get it for $300? I paid over $700 for mine ... Feiyu MG? Or earlier version?
