Is there a way to batch edit 4k clips without making a template?

Almost a year ago they removed the ability to batch edit video for some reason. Didn't really explain why they did it, just that they did it, we are to use templates for now, and they are working to bring back batch edit in the future.

Ya we are stuck with the pain in the butt Templates when the simple, fast and easy batch edit worked so well. Really need both systems.
