Windows 7

I upgraded my desktop to Windows 7 Pro today. So far so good... It's exactly as advertised.

Windows 7 boots up in half the time it took Vista to boot up. All of the apps I've re-installed so far also launch faster in Windows 7.

The most amazing thing is that Win7 now supports AVCHD files (.mts and .m2ts) natively. Even playing them in Windows Media Player "without any stutter". That alone will improve my workflow significantly.

Did you upgrade from and into 32 or 64?

From 64-bit Vista to 64-bit Windows 7.

It still scares me going from 32 XP, not sure if to stay with 32 or go with 64 or just stay where I am ...

The suggestions I've read are:

If you are running 32-bit XP, stay with it until the first service pack for Windows 7 comes out.

If you are running 64-bit XP or any version of Vista, upgrade now. Windows 7 is much less buggy than Vista.

I'm running 64bit XP which is great, compared to 32bit XP or any type of vista. I'm really tempted by 7, but I guess I'll still wait for the first service pack.
