Hi!
Any advices on improvement of sales? Working hard everyday is much fun, but there is no return and outcome, so sometimes it feels sad...
What do you think works more - pond5's searching engine or social networking and self-advertisement?
Does social networks really works? Especially in case if there is almost no 'social' content at all, no subscrirbers. I mean Facebook, Twitter, YouTube? Instagram maybe?
I'm from Russia, we have vk.com here and I have at least some amount of subscribers and friends there but I think it's also doesn't work.
Or the best answer is still 'more tracks - more sales', huh?
Thanks!

I would recommend you to write as much styles/genres that you're comfortable into to build a nice and welcoming portfolio. Once it's done, work on a facebook page. Try working on a local network first. Usually, indie video games and film makers were a huge part of the first incomes for me. I'm kind of new on Pond5 and I only want to extend my local network to a more international one. Once you get known locally, you'll see, you'll get to write, record, whatever a lot more and even if the client doesn't end up buying everything you've made for them, you still can sell what you've done to another client or offer it online. Don't be afraid to contact people. It's sad, but at first, you're nobody, you have to be friendly and take opportunities. I don't have any degree or magic science, I just believe in human relations haha. Good luck mate!

Hello, I am also new to Pond 5. I do not have any data but I have had an impression that uploading music to SNSes does seem to help music to be sold. Have you been using https://soundcloud.com/ ? I suspect that uploading there sometimes works. Asking my friend to use my music for Youtube video might have worked. I asked her to include a link to a product page in the description (sorry but this one was for audiojungle). Maybe twitter did help me to sell music before. It has stat so you can get the finer insight.
I know that Since I cannot find an option at POND5 to embed our music in SNSes or solid API, it is not that convenient to do self-promotion as opposed to other sites.
One eccentric approach I have tried was to add a sound player underneath self-made html5 game
http://play.befive.info/dealer-ginjirou/ (click on Sound Tracks tab below the game screen)
To be honest, I do not know if the effort and time to make a game are worth for return I could get (at least so far!). But it was fun after all.
