Thanks! But I think you misunderstood me,I am not talking about hanheld shots, where the camera is just randomly moving around, I am talking about shots where the movement is specialy made, like following girl who is walking by the lake etc.

How about some clarification. Since you do not use a tripod and shots are not handheld just how are you getting the footage you've posted? Which camera are you using?

Tripods are not just stationary they can be used for motion as well like panning (left to right) tilting (up and down) on dolly or dolly track. Then there are gimbals which give the freedom to move around while shooting. There are also sliders that can use for motion whether motorized or not so there are a lot of choices in how to produce motion.

Stock footage is rarely used in Hollywood productions as it is used mainly in advertisements. As for Indie productions, there are some artist here that produce such footage but their footage sales are very low.

Hello,
I understand your desire to follow the action. You may wish to invest in a 3-axis gimbal stabilizer. They are not cheap but produce the professional effect you desire. The results will be smooth motion. Here is one (there are many):

@steveandlizdonaldson At lease Ikan designed theirs so the motor isn't directly in front of the monitor and price is reasonable.

Thanks! Will think about gimbals, right now for most shots I use Hand Rig, so they are not totaly handheld, because rig doesn't make motion very shaky, but it makes slight camera motion - also for some shots I stabilize them in post, but I think gimball would be a great deal here.

Jason, I have my eye on the Ikan gimbal linked above, but have not bought it since I'm waiting to try the DJI ronin-s, which has not hit the market yet but should soon. Both have moved the roll gimbal out of the sight line of the monitor. It will come down to cost vs performance for my camera weight (GH4 with the common 12-35 zoom lens but who knows about the future). My piggy bank is nervous, since he knows he's about to be broken open soon!

@steveandlizdonaldson B&H drop the price of the MS-PRO Beholder to $339.99 but I like the design of the DS2-A

@megakruts It really doesn't matter what the device is you have the camera mounted to it's still totally handheld.
